Hoosier Trails Council is committed to meeting the needs of Cub Scouts and the entire family by providing exciting programs, engaging education, and life-changing experiences in an incredible outdoor setting where the value of  Scouting is best  displayed. An exuberant and friendly volunteer staff awaits the opportunity to facilitate fantastic adventures all year long!

Registration fees for these events are included in the Council Program Fee. There will be no registration fees to attend these events, as long as you pre-register (walk-ins will be charged an activity fee, so please reregister). If you choose optional packages that include meals, overnight camping options, etc., there will be an extra fee to cover additional costs.  All Cub Scout events are scheduled to happen “rain or shine.” There is a registration fee when the Scout has not pre-registered.

Cub-O-Ree Adventure: May 4-5, 2024

The Cub-O-Ree Adventure is full of great outdoor activities for Cub Scouts. Enjoy the start to summer with campfires and sleeping under the stars in the beautiful Hoosier National Forest. This is a great pack, den, or family event that concludes with Sunday lunch. Activities include: shooting BB guns, archery, games, crafts, nature hikes, boating, fishing, swimming, campfire program, star gazing, and much more!  This program has limited space! Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, and personal gear. Please check the weather forecast for the weekend, and make sure you are prepared and dressed appropriately.

Don’t forget to bring your fishing pole (or use one of ours) – we will take care of the worms!

Hoosier Trails Council is hosting a NEW action-packed Cub Scout Family Camp event for all Cub Scouts (Kindergarten – 3rd Grade) at Maumee Scout Reservation. This is a “don’t miss event” that is sure to be the most enjoyable experience of the year. Your Scouts often wonder what it is like to attend summer camp like the older Scouts and now is the time that they get a taste. We will have all our program areas open for them and they will enjoy fishing, swimming, shooting sports, Scout Craft, nature, STEM, camping under the stars, and much more! Our staff is ready for a great time with your Cubs, teaching them the very things that will help them advance in rank. Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, and personal gear. All meals will be provided in our dining hall and in your campsite so you are able to enjoy camp life outdoors.

Overnight Cub Scout events require an adult partner (parent/guardian) in attendance for the duration of the event.

This is a “don’t miss event” that is sure to be the most enjoyable experience of the year. Your Scouts often wonder what it is like to attend summer camp like the older Scouts and now is the time that they get a taste.  We will have all our program areas open for them and they will enjoy fishing, swimming, shooting sports, Scout Craft, nature, STEM, camping under the stars, and much more! We are excited to provide this opportunity to you and our staff is ready for a great time with your Cub Scouts teaching them the very things that will help them advance to the Scout Rank.  Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, and personal gear. All meals will be provided in our dining hall.

Scout Shoot-O-Ree: September 14-15, 2024

The Cub Scout Shoot-O-Ree is our unofficial kick-off to the new year of Cub Scout programing with over 500 Scouts having the time of their lives ! This event is open to registered Cub Scouts and their Cub Scout age siblings. The Shoot-O-Ree is especially great for boys and girls who just joined the program. Scouts will enjoy a variety of shooting sports themed activities like archery, BB guns, sling shots, and much more! Check-in for the Shoot-O-Ree begins at 8:30 am at the camp administration building (at the end of the camp parking lot). Activities are open from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. An optional overnight camping package is available for this event that will include registration for one Scout and one adult with meals included. Additional Scouts or adults can be added to your reservation but at least one parent/guardian will be required for each Scout camper. This offers a great way to spend more time at beautiful Maumee Scout Reservation and participate in a campfire and MORE activities! Scouts that plan to camp overnight will set up their camping gear and join us for dinner at 6:00 pm in the dining hall. 

New events are added each year! Snacks & lunch will be available for an additional cost at our OA Café or you can bring your own lunch. There will be a Trading Post available for those wishing to purchase snacks and souvenirs.

Please check the weather forecast for the day of your choosing, and make sure each participant is prepared and dressed  appropriately. This is a “rain or shine” event! There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for all sorts of weather conditions.
