Camp Programs

  • Camp Louis Ernst Orienteering: All markers are up and current as of July 11, 2019
  • Camp Louis Ernst Leave No Trace Trail - The purpose of the Leave No Trace teaching trail at Camp Louis Ernst is to help Scouts and others learn about this philosophy and to enjoy an outdoor experience while hiking and appreciating nature.  Leave No Trace is an international program designed to provide education concerning the impacts on the environment while hiking and camping.  There are ten stations on the trail representing the seven principles of Leave No Trace and some examples of impacts on the environment.  Our suggestion is to travel the trail, taking short breaks at each station to review each principle with a teachable moment.  Materials about the trail and Leave No Trace are available at the starting point in the CLE Dining Hall.  These are located near the bulletin board.  As always, it helps to be prepared and additional teaching information and teaching tips are available through the Leave No Trace website.
