Trainer Development Conference For those that train and those that teach March 8, 2008 8:00 am Registration Conference Ends 4:30 pm Hoosier Trails Council Service Center 5625 E State Road 46, Bloomington Cost: $7.00 Continental Breakfast will be provided Bring your own lunch For more information contact Service Center 812-336-6809 This conference is designed for training staffs and any other volunteers with an interest in conducting training. The TDC course is designed for trainers of all leaders in all areas of Scouting: Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity, Venturing, Commissioner Service, District and Council Operations. Participants will learn how to conduct an effective training course, the characteristics of a good trainer, different training styles, how to evaluate themselves and how to make their training styles more interesting for the audience. An ongoing activity, the “BSA 500” game is featured and used continuously throughout the conference to emphasize and reinforce the experiential learning. Every Scout deserves a trained leader. series. 2008 will be the 98th year of the Boy Scouts of America. This years cost will be $98 or more if requested and paid by June 30, 2008. The intent is that uniformed Scouts and Scouters wear this patch to show their support of our scouting program. The intent is also that Scouts and Scouters only ask for the ones they will wear. Watch for further details in the Hoosier Trail Signs as they are posted or check out our website at www.hoosiertrailsbsa.org. Philmont 2008 Crew 219 needs 5 more people to go to Philmont 2008. (1 has to be an adult female - can have more). The Crew leaves by train July 28th. The dates are from July 29th through August 10th. You can bring non perishable food on the train. If you want to eat in the dining car it costs you extra. The total cost for the Philmont Trek and Train is $860 per person. White Stag National Youth Leadership Training News The White Stag youth and adult staff has been selected and has started training for the week-long youth leadership training course scheduled for this summer. Many participants have submitted their applications with deposit. We can only accept 36 for the course. When we pass that number, names will be placed on a waiting list. We anticipate this wait list process will start in mid March so have your participants apply early.
